NJ Commercial Solar Case Studies
Real commercial solar projects across New Jersey: system size, annual production, financing structure, simple payback, and the engineering decisions that drove each outcome. No marketing renderings. No vendor claims.
Each case study includes anonymized financial details, utility interconnection track, and the structural and load-profile considerations specific to that facility.

New Jersey Projects We Have Built
Every project below is a documented LandAir Energy installation. System sizes, production figures and payback periods come from interconnection paperwork and metered production, not from estimates. Client names and dollar figures are published only where the client has approved them.

- Commissioned2023
Drilled pier foundations set to the 36 inch New Jersey frost depth, 18 foot single row spans, and conduit pre-wired for EV charging on a high visibility Route 38 site.
Burlington County Manufacturer plus Battery
- System1.2 MW solar, 250 kWh battery
- Annual productionabout 1,450,000 kWh
- Facility usage offset70%
- Peak demand reduction180 kW
- Simple payback4.8 years
Storage was sized against the demand profile, and the project captured the New Jersey energy storage incentive alongside the solar programs.
Documented outcomes
Three New Jersey owners, three verified results on the electric bill.
South Jersey manufacturer
Of the facility's electric bill eliminated. The system was sized against the plant's real consumption pattern rather than the available roof area, and installation was scheduled around production hours.
New Jersey school district
Saved every year across district buildings. Licensed structural and electrical Professional Engineers signed off on each building, and work was scheduled around the school calendar.
Camden County senior housing
Back in the operating budget each year. Continuous day and night common area loads made this property a strong fit once the load analysis was done properly.
The full write ups on all three, including what each owner needed and why the result landed where it did, are on the results page.

What’s Actually in These Case Studies
Every case study on this site reflects a documented LandAir Energy project. System size, production estimates, and payback are real; client names and exact addresses are shared only with permission, so some details are described generally instead.
- Lower Energy Costs
- Increase Property Value
- Environmentally Friendly
- Energy Independence
What We Verify Before Publishing a Case Study
Before a project goes on this page, we confirm the system specs against interconnection paperwork and production data, not marketing copy.
- System size and equipment confirmed against interconnection paperwork
- Production data checked against at least one full billing cycle where available
- Client approval obtained for any identifying details we publish
- Utility and financing structure noted where relevant
- Anonymized where a client has not approved public details
How Incentives Show Up in These Projects
What we typically confirm before including incentive detail in a case study:
Cost coverage:
Some projects see 40% to 60% offset after stacking programs; eligibility and timing vary.
Tax credits:
Federal credits may reduce net cost; we help document requirements for your accountant.
NJ incentives:
Production-based programs can add ongoing value tied to energy output; availability depends on program status.
Payback modeling:
We run conservative ROI scenarios using your rates, available area, and load profile.
Our Process
Step 1: Share your bill and site details
Step 2: Design, incentives, and approvals plan
Step 3: Build, turn-on, and reporting
What’s Included in Each Case Study
System specs
Size, equipment type, and mounting method where documented.
Production and offset
Estimated or measured production and the share of load it offsets, where available.
Utility and interconnection
Which utility the project connects to and any interconnection notes worth sharing.
What is anonymized
Client names, exact addresses, and dollar figures are omitted unless we have written permission.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why do not all case studies include dollar figures?
We only publish financial details a client has approved for release. We show verified system size and production instead.
Can you show me a case study for my specific building type?
We will tell you honestly if we have one; if not, we can walk through the closest comparable project.
How many completed projects does LandAir have?
400+ projects completed since founding in 1996. Case studies here are a documented sample, not the full list.

How LandAir Approaches Every Project
The four-phase methodology behind every project in our case study library. Each phase has specific deliverables and decision points: feasibility is paid, engineering rolls into the project, EPC is turnkey, and O&M is optional but recommended for the 25-year system lifetime.
Feasibility packet
Drone roof imagery, structural pre-check, single-line electrical, 12-month load profile, shading study, go/no-go memo.
Engineering & permits
PE-stamped design, utility interconnection application, AHJ permits, NJDEP environmental review when applicable.
EPC delivery
Zone-by-zone install on occupied facilities, weekend AC tie-ins, photo-documented installation, commissioning.
O&M + SuSI
24/7 monitoring, 4 annual inspections, quarterly NJ SuSI production reporting to NJBPU, production guarantee enforcement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are these real LandAir Energy projects?
Yes, with anonymized client details where required. Specific facility addresses, client names, and dollar amounts are omitted unless we have written permission. System sizes, production estimates, payback figures, and utility interconnection details are real.
Why do these case studies focus on payback rather than gross system cost?
For commercial property owners, simple payback (years until cumulative savings equal net cost after incentives) is the most actionable single metric. Gross system cost varies widely by project size; payback normalizes across project scales.
How does LandAir calculate the offset percentage?
Annual estimated solar production divided by the facility’s annual electricity consumption from the prior 12 months of utility bills. Net metering credits, NJ SuSI production credits, and demand-charge offset (for battery storage) are tracked separately.
Can I get a reference call with a past LandAir client?
Yes. For serious prospects past the initial feasibility stage. Reference calls are coordinated with the client’s permission and typically happen after we’ve done a feasibility study and you’re evaluating us against alternatives.
